Numbers don’t lie. Numbers are always right. Perhaps, therefore, figures and statistics can serve to elucidate the double murder in the Rue Morgue. In addition, we live in an information society.

We count, measure and weigh everything today. Numbers give us direction. However, the viewer gives them direction and meaning. Therefore, number games were added to Poe’s novel, which will help the reader to decrypt and elucidating the mysterious murder.
